My name is Giovia Deputato and I am a junior at Bloomfield High School. My Italian heritage is very important to me and one way I am able to express that is being a part of my school’s Italian Club. In the Italian Club, we do donations, food drives, bake sales, and really anything we can to contribute to the community.

Intern Spotlight: Teresa Nole
My name is Teresa Nole and I am a junior at Bloomfield High School. My Dad and his parents are Italian. I’m involved in cross country, theater, madrigals, and youth group.
Intern Spotlight: Ava Scollo
My name is Ava Scollo and I am currently a junior at Bloomfield High School. Outside of school, I’ll often take pottery classes, check books out of the library, go on a long run, or teach soccer to the little ones on my block. My dad’s father grew up in Sicily, Italy and immigrated here at only 17 years old.

My name is Meredith Wittner and I am a 16-year-old who attends Bloomfield High School. I am currently a junior. I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family. My favorite season is summer because I love spending time at the beach. My Italian heritage comes from my mother, Dina Marie. Her father, Leo Genovese was from Italy and lived there his entire childhood.

My name is Joe Cantalupo and I am a Junior at Bloomfield High School. My Mema and Pepa, Judy and Frank LoMonte, are both members of UNICO. I enjoy playing baseball for the high school team. I also enjoy spending my time doing volunteer work. I am an active member of the Bloomfield High Key Club.

ph Celidonio, and I’m a medical student at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. I was raised in Bloomfield and attended Bloomfield public schools from K-12, which was an experience I will always be grateful for.
Intern Spotlight: Nickolina Nasce
My name is Nickolina Nasce and I’m currently a Junior at Bloomfield High School. I volunteer my time and donate at any chance I am able to. I love the idea that something I want to get rid of becomes an item of value to someone else. Two clubs in school that I’m a part of are Glamour Gals and the Italian club.

My name is Emily Haraka and I am a Junior at Bloomfield High School. My grandparents, Frank and Judy LoMonte are both members of UNICO, as well as my sister, Anna, who is a youth member. I am the Girls Varsity Soccer Captain and a member of the Track and field team at BHS. I am also the Class of 2023 Treasurer.
