Tell us about yourself (name, education, work experience, hobbies, etc.)

Hello! My name is Samantha Vitone and I joined the Bloomfield Chapter of UNICO this year. I am a full-time paralegal and administrative assistant at a Trusts and Estates law firm called Avelino Law, LLP located in Summit, New Jersey. In May 2017, I graduated from Salisbury University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. I went back to school and received a Paralegal Certificate from Fairleigh Dickinson University in October 2019. Till this day, I still try to obtain certificates and attend lectures to help educate myself! For fun, I love to attend work out classes, go on long walks, and spend time with family and friends. One fun fact about me is that I have participated in three half marathons and hopefully one day, I will run a full marathon.

Tell us about your Italian Ancestry.

I am 100% Italian – my heritage reaches back to, Bari and Giglio Castello Italy and Sicily. My dad was born in Bari and came to America with his family when he was in 1st grade. My mom was born in America as well as her parents. I still have a fair amount of family members, on both sides of my family, who live in Italy. I hope one day I can go to Italy to explore the beautiful country of my ancestors.

How did you hear about / get involved with UNICO, how long have you been a member?

I was introduced to the Bloomfield Chapter of UNICO by Joseph Cupoli, who Tina refers to as the chapter recruiter. He is not only my friend, he also my Financial Advisor.

How do you participate in promoting Service above Self?

I want to participate in promoting Service above Self by volunteering and offering my services whenever there is a need. During this pandemic, community service projects and fundraisers are limited, but I know the chapter does it’s best to help when needed.

Tell us about your favorite memory since you’ve been a member of UNICO.

I just recently joined UNICO so not many memories have been made yet!!! However, my first memory is the evening I was inducted into the chapter as a new member on February 25, 2021. I was greeted with smiling faces when I first walked into the meeting and from there everyone, I met, was welcoming. I cannot wait to attend more meetings and events to meet more new faces!
