Intern Spotlight: Meredith Wittner

Tell us about yourself (name, education, work experience, hobbies, etc.)

My name is Meredith Wittner and I am a 16-year-old who attends Bloomfield High School. I am currently a junior. I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family. My favorite season is summer because I love spending time at the beach. My Italian heritage comes from my mother, Dina Marie. Her father, Leo Genovese was from Italy and lived there his entire childhood.

How long have you been an intern and what have you done with UNICO so far?

I have been a junior intern for only 3 months. In November, I helped with the Annual Food Drive at Brookdale Shop Rite. Helping with the food drive was amazing and it brought smiles to every volunteer’s face!

Why did you decide to apply for an internship?

I applied for an internship because I have been waiting for a unique opportunity to focus my time and energy on more important things. In addition, to help me further understand myself and my Italian heritage.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I plan on attending college and working part time.

How has being an intern at UNICO put your goals in reach?

My goals for being an intern are to contribute and work hard for a group of mature and like-minded people. Being an intern at UNICO, has helped me meet great people. Helping at the food drive was such a great experience, in which I look forward to more opportunities to volunteer.

How will you continue to stay active within UNICO and the Bloomfield community?

I want to continue to stay active within UNICO by attending events among other activities, promoting this amazing community alongside friends and family.
